Natural Relief of Migraines in Victoria British Columbia

Natural relief of migraines in Victoria British Columbia Migraines Victoria British Columbia

If you have been looking for natural relief for migraines in Victoria British Columbia, Upper Cervical may provide the answers and relief that you have been seeking. Dr. Raymond Damadian, the inventor of the MRI has been doing some amazing research with upright MRIs and specialized software. He’s been able to show that when someone has a misalignment in the upper neck it is actually changing the flow of cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) to, from and through the brain. CSF is the fluid that lubricates the brain and spinal cord.

These misalignments could be leading to migraine headaches and other chronic conditions. The obstruction comes as the first few bones in the neck become misaligned and causes a backup of CSF and increased pressure inside the head. When this misalignment was corrected by an upper cervical corrective procedure, the studies show that the pressure inside the head decreases and the CSF flow becomes normal.

For example, one of the studies reports on two patients who presented with severe, long-standing migraine headaches and other complications following whiplash injuries. Both patients were examined in an upright MRI utilizing specialized software, which allowed for evaluation of CSF flow. It was found that in each patient there was a misalignment of the 1st cervical vertebra (Atlas), as well as substantially reduced CSF flow between the skull and the neck. Both patients received an upper cervical correction directed at the C1 misalignment. Within an hour of the correction both patients were rescanned and normal CSF flow was restored. Additionally, the headache pain was nearly eliminated immediately after the correction in both patients. The researchers stated:

Prior research has demonstrated a correlation between CSF flow obstruction and intracranial pressure headaches. This is a potentially significant clinical finding (CSF obstruction) that can lead to long-term and often unexplained complaints of unresolved headaches, neck pain, tingling, numbness, and a variety of other symptoms.

This type of upper neck correction can only be performed by a specially trained group of doctors.

Migraines Victoria BC Upper Cervical Migraine Specialists

Upper cervical doctors frequently see a 90-95 % success rate with Migraine Headaches being eliminated. The other 5-10% at least see a reduction in the frequency and intensity of these headaches. And they are able to address the underlying cause safely and gently. The procedure utilized in our office was developed by The National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association also known as NUCCA over the past 50+ years. The NUCCA procedure requires no popping, cracking or twisting of the spine but instead is a extremely precise and gentle technique to realign the entire spinal column.

Misalignments of the Upper Neck Generally Begin with an Injury to the Head, Neck or Spine

Car accidents, falls, sports injuries, childhood injuries and more lead to a tearing loose of the tissue that holds the spine in place. Which creates a weakness. Once that happens the spine begins to breakdown. It starts in the most movable and vulnerable area, the top of the spine where the skull and the spine come together at the Atlas vertebrae. This misaligned upper neck area creates pressure on the brain stem and veins that drain the brain. This is why pressure will begin to build up into the head often leading to headaches. The brain stem irritation also explains the nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity, etc that frequently goes along with Migraine headaches. […] Migraines should not be a part of your life. They are not normal. So, why do they occur? Many times, there is a misalignment of the spinal column found in the top two vertebrae, called the upper cervical spine. If this happens, changes occur in the flow of cerebral spinal fluid (CFS) and blood to the brain. When this happens, your brain tissue is not getting what it needs. Until the underlying cause of your migraines is diagnosed and addressed, you must avoid activities that may trigger a migraine episode. There are dietary habits and activities that have been linked to causing migraines. What are these? […]
