About Dr. Franchesca Lee

Dr. Franchesca Lee was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. As a first generation Chinese Canadian, she knew she would choose one of her culture’s three favourite professions: engineering, medicine or law.

She first became interested in chiropractic care when her mother began visiting a chiropractor after a car incident.

Dr. Franchesca Lee

Dr. Lee graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2004. It is the first school of chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During this time, Dr. Lee studied multiple full-spine manipulative techniques including specific upper cervical techniques.

After her sixth motor vehicle accident she suffered from daily headaches. A respected colleague suggested she try the NUCCA technique as conventional chiropractic treatments weren’t helping her recover.

The efficacy of these NUCCA treatments in her own care convinced her that this would be the technique she would offer her patients.

During her career, Franchesca has practiced in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and most recently in the Comox Valley. She has now moved her practice and her family to Victoria and the UC Life Chiropractic clinic.

In her free time, Franchesca loves spending time outdoors with her husband and two cute ‘puppy’ dogs. She also enjoys paddling dragon boats and outrigger canoes, cooking, reading and quilting.

After a bad skiing accident at age 17, resulting in a growth plate injury in my right hip, and then three traumatic births at ages 31, 32, 33, causing my coccyx to break during each one, I had regular chiropractic treatments.

Due to the injuries, my health deteriorated further and I developed chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. I had a right hip replacement, which did nothing to alleviate my pain or inflammation.

My mental health suffered. I tried acupuncture, acupressure, massage, prolotherapy, spinal injections, botox and naturopathic treatments.

My symptoms were getting worse, the root cause wasn’t being addressed.

The first time I found any relief was when I began upper cervical treatments. These are very gentle adjustments, performed only on the upper neck.

Dr. Franchesca Lee has helped me enormously with pain over the years. At one point, she intuitively discovered that over time, my neck adjustments needed to be tweaked, as I wasn’t getting the optimal pain relief, due to worsening arthritis and shifting.
She always takes the time to fully understand and treat, not only my pain issues but also my flare up cycles, and suggests how I can support my hydration, nutritional intake and exercise.

She is also a wonderful listener, a deeply caring and effective practitioner and a great source of support.
